O projeto: eu mudei todas as palavras nature [natureza] para a palavra femme [mulher] em um livro de bolso de 1995 chamado la nature, “na encruzilhada da física e metafísica, ciência e teologia, a noção não terminou de alimentar as controvérsias, agora revividas pela preocupação ecológica” diz flammarion, a editora. originalmente este é um livro pedagógico que pretende mostrar, através de uma coletânea de textos, o que foi pensado como uma noção de natureza pela história da filosofia – eurocêntrica, masculina e branca. em minhas mãos, procuro pensar, por uma perspectiva ecofeminista, revelar - escrever e ler - todos os problemas e até as interessantes e reveladoras conexões da justaposição literal do conceito de natureza com o conceito de mulher.
o resultado:
O que acontece ao longo destas páginas não é uma crítica à história desta filosofia, mas uma intervenção do futuro na história do pensamento ocidental a partir do teste literal de uma das hipóteses ecofeministas.
La femme é um livro de guerrilha feito e infiltrado em território inimigo [inclusive nas principais livrarias de filosofia de Paris] e consiste em um trabalho de substituição do termo natureza e seus congêneres por mulher e fêmea em uma famosa antologia filosófica francesa, revelando o que realmente está em jogo na tradição filosófica como edifício libidinal. O original: La Nature, por Frank Burbage, GF Corpus/Flammarion. O projeto fez parte da minha temporada no Laboratório de Sociologia e Filosofia Política [Sophiapol] da Université Paris Nanterre.
The project: in i changed all the words nature for the word femme in a 1995 pocket book called la nature, “at the crossroads of physics and metaphysics, science and theology, the notion has not finished feeding the controversies, now revived by the ecological concern” says flammarion, the editor. originally this is a pedagogical book wich aims to show, by a collection of texts, what was thought as a notion of nature by the history of – white male eurocentric – philosophy. in my hands i try to think by the ecofeminist perspective to reveal – write and read – all the problems and even the interesting and revealing connections of the literal juxtaposition of the concept of nature with the concept of woman.
the result:
What happens throughout these pages is not a critique of the history of this philosophy, but a future intervention in the history of Western thought from the literal testing of one of the ecofeminist hypotheses.
La femme is a guerrilla book made and infiltrated in enemy territory [including in the main philosophy bookstores of Paris] and consists of a work of replacing the term nature and its congeners with woman and female in a famous French philosophical anthology, revealing what is really at stake in the philosophical tradition as a libidinal edifice.
